AFC prepares play-off draw for 2024 return of U17 Women's Asian Cup finals

October 31 - AFC will hold the draw for the first round of the U17 Asian Women's Cup Indonesia 2024 qualifiers this week in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The first round will see 29 teams compete in eight groups from April 20-23, 2023, with the eight group winners progressing to second-round qualifying in two groups from September 16-24, 2023.

First-round qualifiers will be played in centralized venues in Guam, Jordan, Kyrgyz Republic, Mongolia, Singapore, Tajikistan, Thailand and Vietnam.

The U17 Women's Asian Cup tournament is back after a four-year hiatus caused by the pandemic. Four teams from the second leg will qualify for the Indo-Sinese final, which will be played from April 7 to 20, 2024. They will be joined by the top three teams from the AFC Thailand Women's U-16 Championship 2019 as well as the Indonesia, who will play in the qualifiers.

Reigning champions and four-time winners Japan, runners-up and three-time winners Korea DPR and third-placed China are the 2019 teams that qualified directly for the final. The 29 teams will be placed in four seeding pots, with the eight Qualifying host nations placed in a separate host pot.
