Afroman missing $400 in cash seized in police raid

Afroman says he's missing hundreds of dollars after cops return the money they seized during a raid on his home...and he thinks it's the cops who might put hand over his missing money.

Afroman joined us on "TMZ Live" on Wednesday, telling us that after counting the money returned by the Adams County Sheriff's Office in Ohio on Tuesday, he realized that he he was $400 short.

He thinks someone either hacked the evidence deposit money or took it from his clipboard during the raid. Either way, he tells us he's preparing for legal action.

As we reported, the rapper's home was raided in August...and he told us at the time that they were looking for narcotics but came back empty-handed.

Afroman mentions a kidnapping charge against him relating to the raid — and law enforcement tells TMZ someone called the cops in August, saying someone was being held in his home against their will.

For their part, the cops simply say the sheriff's office called state investigators to help look into Afroman's claims about the missing money.
