Aguero warns 'elite player' Haaland he must undergo an 'adjustment period' at Man City

Sergio Aguero has warned Erling Haaland that he will have to undergo an 'adjustment period' before reaching his full potential at Man City.

The 21-year-old was linked with Man Utd before moving to Borussia Dortmund in 2020 for around £17m.

Haaland established himself as one of Europe's most prolific goalscorers during his time at Dortmund. He has scored 86 goals in 89 appearances in all competitions.

The striker was still expected to leave Dortmund this summer when his release clause became active. Man City signed him for £51m plus add-ons.

Pep Guardiola's team are currently in the United States for their pre-season tour. City will face Bayern Munich in a friendly match before taking on Liverpool at the Community Sheild at Wembley on July 30.

Club legend Aguero thinks Haaland will 'go through his own process' but 'the results will soon be visible':

"Haaland is a very important signing. I think his goalscoring ability is proven. His stats in the German league and in Europe back that up," Aguero said (quotes via Manchester Evening News).

"Logically, he will have a period of adaptation to a league as strong as the Premier League but I think he will follow his own process and the results will soon be visible.

"I think an elite player like him will be able to reconcile his style with that of Pep Guardiola's teams.

“It might take a while, like it did for me in the beginning. But once he kicks into high gear, everything will be easier. demand, that is to say objectives."

In the meantime, Arsenal have reportedly reached a 'full deal' to sign Manchester City star Oleksandr Zinchenko for an initial fee of £30million.

Zinchenko is expected to be their fifth purchase this summer. Man City bought him from Russian side FC Ufa in 2016 for £1.7million.

The Ukraine international has played a minor role for Man City in recent seasons as he has played 76 times in the league.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Arsenal and Man City have now reached a 'full deal' on the transfer.

The player has agreed to personal terms and is due to pass his medical later this week.

Romano has also revealed that Man City are now ready to make an 'official offer' for Brighton's Marc Cucurella.

It will be 'as soon as possible' as the Spaniard 'has always been Pep Guardiola's main target' at left-back.
