Akeredolu calls for fighting against the enemies of peace

As Muslim worshipers celebrate Eid-Al Kabir across the country, Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu congratulated worshipers in the state and the country as a whole on the occasion .

This was in his message, through his chief press officer, Richard Olatunde, on Saturday.

Akeredolu instructed Muslim worshipers to reflect on the essence of the Islamic holiday by remembering the lesser privileges and rededicating themselves to the commandments of Almighty Allah.

He said: "Eid-Al-Kabir is more than just a celebration. It reflects the gains of obedience and trust in Almighty Allah. It preaches the sacrifice that must be made for a hope renewed.

"We urge our Muslim brothers and sisters to imbibe the lessons of this season. We must be deliberate in our commitment to promoting peace and tolerance in our daily lives. Our commitment to the cause of humanity must be steadfast.

“This celebration is another opportunity to express and show the uniqueness of the Islamic faith.

“As Muslims, we must show the world that our faith teaches peace, tolerance and charity. We must unite our voices to fight the enemies of the people who daily inflict unspeakable terror on innocent citizens.

“We must oppose acts of terrorism and resist these calculated attacks on the people and the country as a whole. Support the government at all levels to defeat these cowards whose sole purpose is to kill and maim innocent people .

“For our part, we will continue to prioritize the safety of the lives and property of our people. We saw the need to redouble our efforts. We have put in place the necessary security measures to deepen our efforts to secure the state. No human life will be depreciated under our watch.

“We require all of our mosques to install, use and maintain CCTV and other secret cameras on their premises, as well as employ well-trained security personnel to manage hot spots. entering and leaving their premises."

Governor Akeredolu also called on people to be vigilant and report suspicious faces and movements to security agencies.

“Provide our security agencies, especially the Amotekun Corps, with all necessary support. Any attempt to undermine the good works of the Amotekun Corps will be counterproductive.

"We also call on our people, especially our students, not to engage in mob actions that sell them as supporting crime in any form. Students have a duty to expose known criminals said Akeredolu.

The governor ensured adequate security during and after the celebration of Eid-Al-Kabir, adding that officers from the Amotekun corps and other security agencies were deployed in strategic locations in the country. State to maintain law and order.
