Anambra Police receives three CP, AIG on election duties

The Anambra State Police Command received a Deputy Inspector General of Police and three State Police Commissioners ahead of Saturday's elections.

Anambra State Police Command spokesman DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, who stated this in a press release, said the officers were received by Police Commissioner Echeng Echeng .

Ikenga said, “The Anambra State Police Command received today, 22/2/2023, the newly deployed Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Eboka on Friday, and three Police Commissioners assigned to Area 13 Headquarters, Ukpo.

"AIG Eboka Friday, prior to his assignment as Election Supervisor of Area 13, comprising Anambra and Enugu Commands, was the AIG in charge of Area 16.

"He will oversee the three police commissioners deployed to the state's three senatorial districts [as well as] Anambra State Police Command Police Commissioner Echeng Echeng for the general elections in 2023."

Commissioners deployed in the state include DCP Yusuf A. Apaje for Anambra North, CP Julius A. Okoro for Anambra South, and CP Selem V. Amachere for Anambra Central.

The command, according to Ikenga, has urged the people of the state to come out in droves to exercise their right to vote and vote for the candidates of their choice, as adequate deployments have been made to ensure that the elections are peaceful , snag-free and secure.

The command has also released the phone numbers of strategic commanders and the control/situation room to quell any disruptive situations.
