An Indian film that drew backlash for "hurting Hindu religious sentiments" has been removed from Netflix, days after the Netflix said the Tamil-language film - Annapoorani: The Goddess of Food - had been removed at the "request of the licensor of license".

The film stars actor Nayanthara as a Hindu Brahmin woman who aspires to become a leader.
