Anthony Joshua left red-faced after coach delivers Tyson Fury v Oleksandr Usyk verdict

Anthony Joshua's coach Angel Fernandez has made a startling prediction for the proposed clash between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. Although his fighter suffered back-to-back losses to the Ukrainian, Fernandez backs Fury to do what AJ couldn't by raising his hand after the final bell.

"He's going to give Fury trouble," Fernandez said, "But I think Fury somehow he'll find a way. He's too big, too tall, too lanky. Personally , I don't see him beating Fury. But that's what makes this division so interesting.

“Rebuild Anthony and hopefully we can fight Tyson Fury. And god knows we might end up fighting Usyk for the third time.”

Fury and Usyk are reportedly negotiating terms to stage the first undisputed heavyweight unification clash of the four-belt era early next year. Initial reports had suggested they were aiming for Dec. 17, but with Usyk unable to make the date due to injuries sustained in his last fight, a renewed schedule of either Feb. 11 or Feb. 18 has been filed.

According to American Fury promoter Bob Arum, the Middle East is the most likely destination, although a group of Las Vegas casinos have banded together to submit a bid. Possible locations include Saudi Arabia, Qatar, United Arab Emirates (Abu Dhabi), and United States (Las Vegas).

The Gypsy King is keen to fight before then, however, and has offered Joshua the chance to challenge for his WBC belt until Usyk is ready.
