Anti-aging serums: 10 of the best

There comes a time when the skin loses collagen and elasticity, and the renewal process completely slows down. That's when that peachy, bouncy, glowing, blemish-free face you once had seems like a distant memory. It's a big concern for a lot of people, but to be honest mostly women - hence 'anti-aging' is one of the most searched words on Google. But I have a lot of problems with the term "anti-aging". If I listed them all, we'd be in War and Peace territory, but I basically think that this negative concept is doing us a disservice. There's absolutely nothing wrong with getting old (surely, if nothing else, it's a sign you're still alive) and for the sake of the brands that continue to push an agenda obsessed with youth, wrinkles are not the worst thing that can happen to a woman. I say all of this knowing that it's probably falling on many deaf ears because most women I know — especially those over 35 — want younger looking skin. So I'm not here to convince you to embrace your wrinkles, but I will advise you to take a more positive approach. Think of the skin in terms of regeneration and nutrition so that it is in perfect health. A diligent serum from tried and tested and trusted brands like these will help. Formulas to look for should include: peptides, to help with collagen and elastin production to give you plumper skin; Vitamin C is great for lightening; retinol is great for increasing skin cell turnover and smoothing skin texture, and niacinamide will improve skin tone. And then, don't forget the SPF. Because if there's one thing that will slow down the aging process, it's a decent sunscreen.
