Anti-thug committee destroys thug hideouts in Zamfara

The Zamfara State Anti-Rogue Committee lamented that it would ensure that its agents tackle all forms of violence and other crimes to bring peace to the state.

This was revealed to reporters by the state chairman of the committee, Mr. Bello Bakyasuwa, in Gusau, the state capital, after the committee destroyed some structures hiding political thugs.

According to the chairman, committee members destroyed one of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign offices near Government House for alleged crimes.

“The action was taken by the committee following an intelligence report by some patriotic Nigerians. The occupants of the party office were not campaigning for the APC, but rather were committing crimes in disguise,” he said.

The president explained that the committee is working hard to wage war on political thugs, drug addiction and other related crimes, especially before and during the 2023 election campaigns.

Bakyasuywa urged political parties and party leaders to cooperate with the committee to ensure peaceful election campaigns and elections in the state.

He further called on parents to inculcate moral values in their children so that they become useful members of their respective societies so as to contribute to the development of the state and the country as a whole.

Bakyasu also urged governments at all levels, as well as wealthy individuals, to cooperate with the committee in carrying out its legitimate efforts, saying the issue of security is everyone's business.

According to him, the committee is facing mobility problems and other logistical challenges.
