Marriage has a heavenly model and an earthly double.
There has been a longstanding marriage in the godhead since eternity past. This marriage is between God the Father and Jesus the Son. God is two people united in their love.
This divine relationship provides the pattern for the human family. Therefore, marriage on earth should be a sacred reflection of the family of God in heaven. His identity, life and power must come from the celestial pattern.
Paul said, "I bow my knees before the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, from whom all the family in heaven and on earth are named." (Ephesians 3:14-15).
It means that the relationship between God and Jesus is the Christian model of marriage. This gives us an exemplary insight into how husbands and wives should relate to each other.
Celestial doubloon
Indeed, marriage has a celestial model and an earthly double. God's purpose is to reproduce heavenly things on earth. Thus doing, things on earth: "serve the copy and shadow of heavenly things, as Moses was divinely instructed when he was about to build the tabernacle." For (God) said, "See that you do all things after the pattern which was shown to you on the mountain." (Hebrews 8:5).
Jesus says we should pray to God, “Your kingdom come. Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. (Matthew 6:10). This is further confirmation that God's will is to establish the heavenly pattern of marriage on earth.
Imperative love
God is love. For God's love to be functional, it must have an object. Therefore, because God is love, God must be more than one person. Because God is love, God must have someone to love. The person whom God loves from eternity to eternity is Jesus.
Jesus confirms this. He said to God the Father, “You loved me before the foundation of the world.” (John 17:4). Jesus also said to his disciples, “The Father loves the Son. (John 5:20).
As the Father loves the Son, the husband must love his wife. This love must be fully expressed publicly. Jesus said, “The world must learn that I love the Father. (John 14:31). Similarly, the love of husband and wife should not be hidden but displayed openly.

The new practice in the western world of men marrying men and women marrying women is evil and ungodly. At first that was not the case. It is God, not man, who created marriage. Therefore, God owns the copyright.
This means that marriage cannot be subject to earthly overhaul. The marriage that is of God is between a man and a woman, and not between a man and a man, or a woman and a woman.
