Atiku rejects attacks from Oshiomhole

People's Democratic (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar yesterday rejected what he called the "use of unflattering words" by former Edo State Governor Adams Oshiomhole.

Atiku, who accepted the exemption from the verbal attack, said the former Edo governor was "distraught by his growing popularity". A statement released by Atiku/Okowa Campaign Organization spokesperson Kola Ologbondiyan said, “Nigerians expect Adams Oshiomhole to note that the presidential campaign addresses serious issues and is not a flat -form to throw tantrums and irresponsible comments."

In a television interview, Oshiomhole on Wednesday said that Atiku was totally insensitive to the Nigeria project. The former governor added that Atiku's speech in Kaduna, where he was quoted as saying that northerners should not vote for southerners, clearly indicates that the PDP candidate is not a unifier. /p>

Oshiomhole, deputy chief executive of Bola Tinubu's Presidential Campaign Council, and his running mate, Kashim Shettima, said Atiku was the "weakest link currently among the top three candidates", including Tinubu and Peter Obi of the Labour Party. Party (LP).

But the statement from Atiku's spokesperson said, "Nigerians are not prepared to accept such an apparent 'HPD' attitude on his part towards the nation's favorite leader, Atiku Abubakar.

“In any case, Nigerians will not be surprised to see Adams Oshiomhole turn against the inevitable victory and investiture of Atiku Abubakar on May 29, 2023, to condemn Asiwaju Tinubu and declare his current disreputable remarks against Atiku Abubakar as mere political statements.”
