Ben Armstrong, the man behind Bitboy Crypto, has said he is dropping the defamation suit against fellow YouTube content creator Erling Mengshoel Jr., who goes by the name Atozy.

Armstrong formally filed a lawsuit against Mengshoel on August 12 in response to a November 2021 video titled "This YouTuber is scamming his fans…Bitboy Crypto", which alleged Armstrong was dishonestly promoting 'doubtful assets for its public like PAMP for its own profit. He was seeking $75,000 in damages for this ordeal.

However, Armstrong suggested in a live stream on Wednesday that he is now backtracking on his lawsuit after Mengshoel successfully raised over $200,000 for his defense.

The crypto YouTuber explained that he originally filed the lawsuit in an attempt to get Mengshoel to take down the video and suggested he didn't actually want to go through the legal process.

However, Armstrong explained that Atozy now has enough to cover legal costs, and with prominent crypto traders/podcasters such as Cobie (Jordan Fish) donating $100,000 to the cause, the dispute went further than he originally planned
