Barcelona's game against Cadiz interrupted due to a medical problem

A medical problem in the crowd caused play to be stopped in the match between Cadiz and Barcelona.

Robert Lewandowski and Frenkie de Jong led Barça 2-0 in Saturday's game in Andalusia.

However, as Barca rode to an easy win, the game was stopped with less than 10 minutes of regular time remaining.

The players waited on the pitch when it became clear something was wrong in the crowd, with Cadiz goalkeeper Jeremias Ledesma passing what appeared to be medical equipment to those in the stands.

After nearly 20 minutes, the referee spoke to the captains of both teams, as the players exited the pitch and descended into the tunnel.

No indication was immediately given as to when or if the game would resume.

A short statement from Barca read: "The match was stopped due to a medical emergency with a fan in the stands. The players are going to the dressing rooms."
