Biden says MAGA Republicans are 'committed to rolling this country backwards' - Trump reacts with 'patriotic' kiss

President Joe Biden tore supporters from his predecessor, Donald Trump, Thursday in a speech in Philadelphia.

What happened: Biden's speech, delivered outside Independence Hall, contained pointed words for "MAGA Forces", CNN reported.

"They don't live in the light of truth but in the shadow of lies," Biden said.

"As I stand here tonight, equality and democracy are under attack... We are doing ourselves a disservice by pretending otherwise."

Speaking of Trump supporters, Biden reportedly said, "MAGA forces are determined to roll this country back. Back to an America where there is no right to choose, no right to privacy. No right to contraception, no right to marry whoever you love."See also: How to buy TMTG IPO shares

Why it matters: Biden, through his speech, attempted to separate Republicans from Trump supporters. He said the latter “promote authoritarian leaders” and fan “the flames of political violence,” according to the report.

The US leader reportedly said the Republican Party was "dominated, pushed and intimidated" by Trump and his supporters.

"We need to be honest with each other and with ourselves: too much of what is happening in our country today is not normal," said Biden, according to the report.

Trump reacted to Biden's speech by posting a photo of him kissing the American flag Thursday on Truth Social, a platform owned by Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG).
