Two teams who have enjoyed an impressive start to the 2022/23 campaign, Chesterfield will host Barnet at the Technical Stadium on Friday night.

Starting with the hosts, having reached the semi-finals of last season's play-offs, it's no secret that Chesterfield are aiming to go even further this time around. While the Spireites were perhaps last seen on August 20 in an action-packed 2-2 draw at Notts County, the Derbyshire-based side are unbeaten in each of their first four National League clashes. Similarly, signing off their pre-season preparations with three friendly wins on the spin, it's also worth pointing out that Paul Cook's side have continued to impress at home throughout the 2021/22 campaign. As for the visitors, although they only retained their National League status last season, Barnet seems to have put those issues behind them. In fact, capitalizing on what has been a stellar summer upsurge, the Bees open this weekend's fixtures with a one-point buffer at the top of the board. Likewise, with their improvements underscored by a shock 2-1 victory at Yeovil on August 8, Barnet is now aiming to mount a barrage charge. However, facing what should be a stern test here, they hold a dismal record against Chesterfield. Including a 4-1 loss in January, Brennan's team have lost each of their last four meetings against Friday's opponents.
