Two teams looking to carve out a spot in the top half of the National League standings, Halifax will host Dorking at the Shay on Tuesday night.

Starting with the hosts, managing to get back to winning ways immediately over the weekend with a stellar performance at home, Halifax will be looking to set another marker here. Eventually earning a 1-0 win over promotion contenders Chesterfield at The Shay, Chris Millington's men could be aiming to mount another late charge in the play-offs. Having suffered just one defeat in one of their last six National League outings, the Blues will also be boosted by what has been blistering form in Yorkshire. In fact, including that shock 1-0 victory a few days ago, it's worth noting that Halifax has won each of its last five consecutive home meetings by an aggregate score of 7-1. Picking up wins over Dagenham & Redbridge and Boreham Wood, Millington's side should feel a chance here.

As for the visitors, while Dorking may have been last seen at the weekend playing out a 1-1 draw at Maidenhead, that doesn't cover what was a blow worrying hard for the Wanderers. As it appears their 1-0 win over York last month was just a minor blp, it's worth noting that this is the only National League win Marc White's men have secured in their seven attempts previous. Fighting their way to the fifth tier table, there is no doubt that Dorking will know that they will face a tough test on Tuesday night. Continuing to show prolonged problems in the final third, the Surrey-based side also gained a reputation for their struggles on the road. Including a 4-1 drumming at the hands of Altrincham on October 8, the midweek guests have not recorded a single win on their travels since mid-September.
