The recent upsurge in terrorist attacks in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, has begun to affect economic activities, causing fear and apprehension among residents, who fear being attacked, killed or abducted from their homes .

DAILY POST reports that daredevil gunmen believed to be members of Boko Haram insurgents, wreaking havoc in many parts of the country, have gone on a rampage in the nation's capital.

Recall that on July 5, terrorists attacked the Medium Correctional Facility (Kuje Jail) in Abuja and killed at least one person while many others were injured.

During the attack, more than 800 detainees, including members of Boko Haram and bloodthirsty insurgents from the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP), were taken into custody temporary in the establishment, were released.

There have been a series of incidents of killings and abductions in many parts of the territory, particularly in Kwali and Bwari Area Council of the FCT.

He said, "In our job we make more money at night but I can tell you now that it is one of the most dangerous things to do in Abuja these days. Updated Apart from news of terrorist attacks in many places, people are missing every day.

“There are things we see at night that we cannot say. People are killed and kidnapped daily, but unfortunately we only see a few of them in the media.”

DAILY POST reports that while some private business owners are now closing their businesses to get home before dark, officials still live with the fear of being taken away by terrorists when returning home at night.

Intelligence reports have also revealed that Boko Haram, Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and bandits are currently planning to attack some states in Nigeria, especially the FCT< /p>

The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) sounded the alarm in a memo sent to commands across the country on Tuesday.

However, in an effort to ease the tension, the Inspector General of Police, IGP, Alkali Baba Usman has ordered additional deployment of assets to strategic areas in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja.
