Bolanle Raheem: The police officer who shot the Lagos lawyer
Lagos Police Command has named its officer who shot Bolanle Raheem, a Lagos-based attorney.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesman for the command, named the killer cop Drambi Vandi.
Mr. Vandi, who has now been detained, is an assistant superintendent of police, the spokesperson said Monday via his Twitter account.
PREMIUM TIMES reported how Ms Raheem, who was pregnant, was shot and killed on Christmas Day by the policeman attached to Ajiwe Police Division in the Ajah area of the state.
>Mr. Hundeyin said the suspect was transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department.
He also promised that the investigation into the lawyer's death would be "swift".

The incident happened in the Ajah Under Bridge neighborhood of Lagos on Sunday.
Ms. Raheem's murder was not the first by police in the area, however.
Earlier in the month, a Gafaru Buraimoh was also shot by a yet to be identified officer from the same division.

The latest incident has drawn widespread criticism across Nigeria.
Prominent Nigerians who have sent their condolences to the bereaved family include Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba; and a former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Many Nigerians have also taken to social media to express their outrage at the killing and demand justice for the deceased.
