Borno Police present N26m to families of deceased officers

The Borno State Police Command has donated N26 million to family members of 12 personnel who died on active duty in the state.

Police Commissioner Mr. Abdu Umar said as much while handing over the checks to the beneficiaries on Wednesday in Maiduguri.

He said the move followed the direction of Inspector General of Police Usman Baba-Alkali as part of the Force's commitment to improving police welfare and family members of deceased personnel.

Umar commended the IGP for the gesture and urged the beneficiaries to ensure effective use of the money to support their families.

Some of the beneficiaries welcomed the gesture, adding that it would go a long way to improving their social and economic well-being.
