Buhari mourns Kemi Nelson
President Muhammadu Buhari, on behalf of himself and his wife, Aisha, sympathizes with the Nelson family for the disappearance of frontline politician and women's advocate, Kemi Nelson.
The President also extends his condolences to the government and people of Lagos State, the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, and the Lagos APC family for the loss of " a consistent and loyal member of the party who has devoted so much to the evolution, development, sustenance and relevance of the party in Lagos and throughout the country.”
President Buhari notes Ms. Nelson's contributions as a former Commissioner for Women's Affairs and Poverty Alleviation in Lagos State, Chief Women's Officer in the State, Deputy National Chief Women's Officer APC and former Executive Director of the Nigerian Social Insurance Trust Fund remarking that she was such a grassroots mobilizer and achiever who left her footprints wherever she served.
"As the only female member of the Governor's Advisory Council of Lagos State (GAC), Kemi Nelson continued to be part of the governance structure that led to the transformation of Lagos State into center of excellence it has become," he said. .
The President prays that Almighty God will grant the husband, Adeyemi Nelson, and the family, friends and associates of the deceased, the courage to bear the loss and rest his soul.
