BUK organizes an international conference on climate change and digital technology

The Faculty of Management Sciences at Bayero University in Kano is hosting the International Conference and Doctoral Colloquium on Tuesday to discuss climate change and digital technology.

Faculty Dean Kabir Tahir-Hamid, Professor, told PREMIUM TIMES that the theme of the three-day event is "Sustainable Transformation of Public and Business Management in the Digital Age: Perspectives, challenges and prospects".

He said the gathering intends to radically rethink long-standing ways and traditional paths of development.

"Technology has become a critical success factor and modern public and commercial organizations must consider it an integral part of their strategy if they are to thrive.

“The conference will provide a platform for intellectual discourse on how to achieve sustainable development using digital technology in the public and private sectors.

“Strategically address the issues of public and business management transformation in the digital age and chart a course on how to use emerging digital technology, insights and paradigms to enhance growth and development sustainable and inclusive economies.

“Identify strategies to meet the needs of the current generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet theirs.

“Identify viable strategies to combat poverty, unemployment, pollution, climate change, declining living standards and inefficiencies in public and private management,” he said.
