CAF Women's Champions League: Bayelsa Queens in the same group as the defending champions

Bayelsa Queens of Nigeria will play in Group B alongside defending Champions League champions Mamelodi Sundowns, Egyptian side Wadi Degla and a yet-to-be-determined qualifier from the UNIFAC zone.

Meanwhile, Asfar Club of Morocco, Simba Club of Tanzania, Green Buffaloes of Zambia and Determine FC of Liberia have all been assigned to Group A.

The contest starts Monday, October 31 and runs until Sunday, November 13 in Morocco.

Bayelsa Queens qualified for the final eight-team tournament by winning the WAFU-B zonal championship in Ivory Coast last Saturday.

The Prosperity Girls won the Super Six last June, booking their place in the sub-regional qualifier alongside Togolese team Athlete Ladies, Ghanaian club Darkoa Ampem and USFA Burkina Faso.

The Queens won their group over Darkoa on goal difference and progressed to the semi-finals where they beat Beninese side Espoir Ladies 6-0. In the final, Bayelsa Queens proved too strong for Darkoa as they won 3-0 to clinch the trophy and a place in the Champions League finals.
