Canadian politician and well-known crypto advocate Pierre Poilievre has taken over as leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, which looks set to give the current administration a hard time in the upcoming federal election.

The pro-crypto politician reportedly won the leadership of the Conservative Party of Canada in a landslide victory on September 10, earning 68.15% of the electoral points up for grabs and far surpassing his nearest challenger, Jean Charest, who only got 16.07. % of votes.

Poilievre has been a member of the Conservative Party since 2003, first elected in the 2004 election. Social development.

Poilievre is known as a supporter of crypto and Bitcoin (BTC), advocating greater financial freedom through tokens, smart contracts, and decentralized finance.

His latest nomination means Canadians could potentially vote for a pro-crypto leader in the next federal election – which will be held on or before October 20, 2025 to determine Canada’s 45th Prime Minister.

Earlier this year, Poilievre urged the Canadian public to vote for him as leader to “make Canada the blockchain capital of the world.”

Let people take back control of their money from bankers and politicians.

Expanding choice, reducing the cost of financial products, creating thousands of jobs.
