Channel 4: Culture Secretary Michelle Donelan advises Prime Minister against privatization

Culture Secretary Michelle Donelan advised against the privatization of Channel 4 in a letter to the Prime Minister which leaked online.
In the letter, obtained by the News Agents podcast, Ms Donelan said there were "better ways to keep Channel 4 going" than privatisation.
Predecessor Nadine Dorries was planning to sell the channel owned by the government.
But Ms. Donelan wrote: "I have concluded that pursuing a sale at this stage is not the right decision." p>
A spokesperson for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) did not confirm the U-turn. "We do not comment on speculation," they said.
"The DCMS Secretary of State has made it clear that we are reviewing the analysis again profit from the sale of Channel 4. We will announce more information on our plans in due course."
