Chelsea make €150m 'crazy' their 'first target' with swap deal on the agenda to edge out Man Utd

Chelsea have reportedly made Napoli striker Victor Osimhen their 'best attacking target' ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Blues have spent over £600m on new signings since the start of this season, but they still need to strengthen from the start.

Kai Havertz has often been used as a makeshift striker this season with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang out of favor and Armando Broja out of action through injury.

One of Chelsea's main problems this season has been their lack of goals. They are ninth in the Premier League with just 22 goals in 21 league appearances this season.

They've lacked a prolific goalscorer in recent years, but Osimhen has been in stunning form for Serie A leaders Napoli this season. He scored 16 goals in 17 outings for the Italian side.

Man Utd are also linked with the Nigeria international as they are known to be on the hunt for a new striker ahead of the summer as well.

But 90min report that "Chelsea have identified Napoli striker Osimhen as their main attacking target for the 2023 summer window".

The Blues are said to be 'desperate to win the race' to sign the Serie A star. He still has two years left on his contract at Napoli, which would value him at around 150 million euros.

This asking price did 'not scare' Chelsea away, but they 'should try to lower that fee by offering a number of players in exchange'. Romelu Lukaku is a 'possibility' in this regard if he 'does not return to Inter'.

The 90min report adds: "Chelsea have been looking for a number of alternative targets and are said to have been eyeing Brentford's Ivan Toney, Eintracht Frankfurt's Randal Kolo Muani and Benfica's Goncalo Ramos, as they also pursue Marcus Thuram of Borussia Mönchengladbach over the winter and are monitoring Dusan Vlahovic's situation at Juventus.'

The Italian journalist Gianni Visnadi is full of admiration for Osimhen, who is a "brilliant madman".

"I'm crazy about Osimhen and I think he's a fantastic player," Visnadi told Radio Crc.

“200 million euros for a footballer seems crazy to me. If we follow the ratio with others, I think there is a very dangerous drift in this aspect.

"Osimhen is crazy because he does things that other people don't even think about, this year he shows who he really is.

"Congratulations to whoever chose it. It is a jewel that has been well polished to make it shine as it deserves.

"Napoli had continuity, good play, alternatives. Napoli played 6 games without Osimhen and no one noticed because good guys came in who won the games. Osimhen arrived with the stigma of 'a champion, but the coach's merits are also evident because he is a total player.

"Ibanez who made this mistake must be thanked because otherwise we would not have seen a crazy game from Osimhen. Only a brilliant madman can make this game, the genius to make this move is extraordinary."
