Fate played a part in how TLC singer Chilli met "Boy Meets World" alum Matthew Lawrence. In a March 3 interview with Entertainment Tonight, the former sitcom star shared details about how he and Chilli met for the first time since the duo confirmed their relationship on Instagram on January 1. /p>

According to Lawrence, a snowstorm led to the soon-to-be couple getting on the same plane, and they immediately hit it off. "So we were at this thing. We were working. We just said hello casually and it probably wouldn't have come to anything, but there was this big snowstorm," Lawrence said.

He continued, "I had to be back at work, so I was asking them [the airline] to change my flights. The only flight I could get was a connecting flight through Atlanta. She saw in Atlanta. So she was flying on that flight. So really it was the flight, talking and then saying, 'Hey, let's keep in touch.' That's really what made it happen, and it almost didn't happen. I mean, literally, an hour before takeoff, they were like, 'OK, we got you on this flight. You have to go.' So it was exactly that sort of thing."

Even though Lawrence felt an instant connection with Chilli, they didn't rush their relationship. "It was just a real friendship, you know, for about five or six months, just talking on the phone long distance, like, getting to know each other, seeing each other here and there," he said. "But, really, keep it as friends and be, you know, let's keep our priorities here. We want to know what we are. We don't want to go too fast."

Lawrence and Chilli quickly discovered that they shared many of the same values. Most importantly, they put their family first and understand the importance of taking their mother's phone calls. "She just, you know, her morals and her values," he told ET. "The way she treats her family. She loves my family, that's so important."

When asked if kids are in the cards for them, Lawrence told ET, "That's the game plan. That's what we're trying to do." However, later in a March 15 interview with E! News promoting his new podcast called "Brotherly Love," Lawrence clarified that his family plans aren't as concrete as they used to be. "It's such an interesting story. Joe and I sympathize about this plan to have kids together...when we were growing up," he said, referring to his older brother. "And I missed the first round and now he's starting a new family and I was like, 'Man, that would be great...
