Christmas: Gov Abiodun Asks Prayer For Nigeria, Charges Citizens To Spread Love

As the world celebrates Christmas, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has called on Christians in the state to imitate Jesus Christ by showing love and spreading the message of peace, as true disciples of Christ.

The governor, who made the appeal in a Christmas message signed by his chief press officer, Kunle Somorin, said Christmas was about the birth of the Messiah, who came to preach love throughout his life, therefore, his followers must make peace and I love their watchword.

He added that the birth of Christ should be celebrated not only during Christmas time, but every time, because he died for the redemption of mankind.

He, however, said that Christians should celebrate in moderation.

The Governor further urged them to take advantage of the auspicious time to extend the hand of brotherhood to the needy and less privileged, so that they can feel loved during the Christmas season.

Abiodun noted that Christians should not only celebrate at this time, but must also engage in spiritual intercession on behalf of the country, especially now that it is facing socio-economic challenges.

The Governor, who observed that Nigerians are going through a difficult time, said that hope should not be lost on the possibility of a better Nigeria.

He said he was optimistic that the country would overcome its current challenges and emerge a stronger, more united and more secure nation.

Abiodun, however, called on residents of the state to collect their permanent voter cards so they can participate in the 2023 general ballot.

He also implored them not to be deceived by unscrupulous politicians, but to vote with people of good character, integrity and ability.

The governor reiterated his administration's commitment to good governance and creating an atmosphere conducive to thriving investment, while emphasizing that the welfare and well-being of workers and residents of Ogun would always be in the foreground.
