Christopher Nolan took the opportunity to cast his daughter in a cameo for Oppenheimer and the film's director explains how it happened.

"We needed someone to do this small part of a somewhat experimental sequence and spontaneous," Nolan told The Telegraph in a recent interview. "So it was wonderful to have him like that."

Flora Nolan is credited on IMDB as "Burn Victim" for her work on Oppenheimer . The outlet describes the unnamed character as a "young woman who appears to the main character in a hellish, unsettling vision, in which flesh is scraped from her face by piercing white light".

While talking about the role of Flora, Nolan noted that he didn't want to "make me look like to Michael Powell on Peeping Tom." Nolan was referring to the 1960 film Powell made in which he cast his own nine-year-old son as the child version of the serial killer.

Nolan continued, "But yes, I mean, my God, you're not wrong Truth be told, I try not to analyze my own intentions. But the point is that if you create the ultimate destructive power, it will also destroy those near and dear to you. So I guess that was my way of doing it. 'express that in what, to me, were the strongest terms possible."

Flora is also previously credited as "Girl on Truck" in Nolan's film Interstellar< /em >. She is currently a student at New York University's Tisch School of Arts.
