Concacaf takes advantage of the visit of the Gold Cup to organize the "Bigger Game" program in San Diego

July 15 - In San Diego last week, Concacaf and Cal South teamed up to spread the message of Concacaf's exciting new platform "Bigger Game" and focus on developing the Sport 4 and harnessing the power of football for social change.

Led by Jason Roberts, MBE, Concacaf Director of Development, former Premier League and Grenada international, the 'Bigger Game' believes in using sport as a vehicle for social change through events and community relations.

Important topics such as women's empowerment, safeguarding, child protection, mental well-being and the development of football sessions have the power to link sports skills with life skills. Teaching and applying these skills through football transcends the home, classroom and community to empower confident world changers.

In San Diego, a coach education workshop was held by Concacaf educators and coaches from Cal South, followed by a girls football festival with over 100 girls in attendance, activities took place before the semi-final between the United States and

The goal of the Bigger Game program is simple, concise and embodies the philosophy of Concacaf and Cal South. The promotion of social cohesion, teamwork, confidence, resilience, effort, discipline, respect and a healthy lifestyle throughout the Concacaf region by increasing the access to opportunities through football/soccer and social responsibility initiatives.

Concacaf CSR Coordinator Jennifer Roche said: "It was a fantastic event that demonstrated our determination to make a difference in the lives of young players."

Cal South President Nick Webster added, "We are committed to bringing Concacaf's 'Bigger Game' to all of Southern California and beyond. It has been an honor to work with a team so fantastic who wants to see this beautiful game played by everyone."
