Cricket Scotland: Anjan Luthra is new chairman as reconstruction begins after racism report

Anjan Luthra played for Scotland up to Under-19 level.

The 31-year-old Glasgow-born man who runs a London-based media company is taking on the role for a two-year term.

This follows an independent review commissioned by Sportscotland which found the governance and management of the sport to be institutionally racist.

"This should never have happened and I'm angry," said Luthra, who will lead the search for new board members at administration.

"We're going to get things straightened out and straightened out quickly."

The previous board of directors of the instance d leader resigned in July, the day before a report was published detailing numerous instances of institutional sm racism in the Scottish game.

"I have represented the country in cricket before," added Luthra, who played up to the under-19s. "I feel like I have all the tools to truly rebuild. "We need to be open about the issues facing the organization and cricket in Scotland. We need to listen, empathize and understand what is going on.

"I am full of passion and ambition and I hope to see that trickle down to the organization, that we build a very positive culture of passionate, intense, fast-working people."

Plan4Sport's Changing Boundaries review had called for a new board to be in place by September.

"I think the president's involvement in the recruitment process is actually very positive," Luthra said.
