Delta police foil man's suicide attempt

Men from the Delta State Police Command rescued an as yet unidentified man from a suicide attempt.

This was in a Twitter post on Sunday by police public relations officer DSP Bright Edafe.

According to the message, a distress caller contacted the police and reported that his brother was about to commit suicide.

The victim gave an address where his body is believed to be.

Working on this lead, the police quickly went to the hotel where the victim was locked up and met him for having already cut his wrist.

The PPRO suggested that the victim was however rescued and taken to hospital at around 11.51am on Saturday November 19, 2022.

Following the posting, police efforts to avert the suicide attempt were applauded by well-meaning social media users.

In one of the messages, a certain Titus Asahitsu praised the police, saying, "Well done guys."

Another social media user, who simply described himself as Sir Kay, reacted, noting that the officers' actions were "big moves. Nice."

A Beelon also said, “Nawa oo…God work chief…God bless you…thank you Nigerian police…life is hard these days but suicide is not an option…it's well."

A unanimous interviewee yelled, "Did he split his wrist? Obviously he wasn't ready to die."

Another social media user, while praising the police, said "this information gives us hope. Thanks to all the officers for the quick response."

Another anonymous commenter wrote, "Well done sir. I'm proud of the Nigerian Police. I'm proud of Delta State Command."
