Split in PDP, colossal damage to Atiku's chances, says SWAGA
The South West Agenda for the Presidency of Asiwaju Tinubu 2023 (SWAGA), said yesterday that the division within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) had caused colossal damage to the chances of its candidate, Atiku Abubakar, in the 2023 elections.
SWAGA Chairman and former Minister of Public Works, Senator Dayo Adeyeye, said the emergence of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso as presidential candidates for the Labor Party (LP) and New People's Party of Nigeria (NNPP) respectively, had exhausted Atiku's votes and reduced his chances of winning.
Adeyeye, said Tinubu and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike's rumored meeting in London for a perfect alliance ahead of the 2023 election would further boost the former governor's chances of winning. State to win the presidency.
The former minister spoke on a political show on Independent African Television (AIT) and watched in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State.
Adeyeye expressed optimism that Tinubu has strong political networks across Nigeria to defeat Atiku, his closest rival and other opponents without going into a runoff as expected.
The SWAGA leader said the hype generated by the same-faith note adopted by the CPA would soon be over, saying that the noise around such an arrangement had been extinguished shortly after the governor of the Plateau State, Simon Lalong, has emerged as the Managing Director of Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Organization.
The former minister dismissed the widespread insinuation that Tinubu is terminally ill to lead a country with multiple challenges, saying he is mentally alert to lead and ensure good governance.
