Aston Villa central midfielder Douglas Luiz will sign a new contract with the club, according to The Telegraph. The report claimed that the Brazilian international midfielder will put pen to paper on a three-year contract with the Villans.
Newcastle United wanted to sign Luiz from Villa in the January transfer window and made an offer of £30m. The Villans refused, with manager Steven Gerrard keen to keep the former Manchester City prospect at the club. Manchester United considered making an offer for Luiz during the summer transfer window.
