The DROBI 1 eco-friendly coffee machine does not use filter paper
The DROBI 1 is a unique coffee brewer that produces no wasted filter paper, making the design eco-friendly and able to brew a perfect cup of coffee every time. Plus, rather than using a cone-shaped filter section, the flat area reduces flashover when pouring water over your coffee beans, which helps create a more concentrated brew. Early Bird Pledges are now available for the Radical Project starting at around $42 or £35 (depending on current exchange rates).
"DROBI One absolutely avoids the use of paper filters under any circumstances. The materials, including the mesh mesh and a cup-shaped body, are all made from stainless steel, which means that it is recyclable and reduces the use of plastic and paper.The cylindrical shape of the DROBI One brewer has a flat bottom to distribute the coffee grounds which prevents any bypassing.”
"Coffee is brewed with a richer flavor than with a cone-shaped filter. Bypass means when the water literally bypasses the edge of the cone-shaped filter, or too quickly, partially extracting the grounds. Bypassing is the main source of harshness in brewed coffee. And thus, it prevents the full flavor of the coffee from being tasted.”

"One of the problems with using a paper filter is that it strips the coffee oil during brewing, not to mention the process of getting rid of the flavor of the paper when infusing.The upper part of the product components, also called "Top", has the effects of a shower head, so even if you pour hot water in one go, the hot water flows evenly through all the coffee grounds.Plus, there's a 1.67 fl oz (50ml) line marked inside the "Top", so you don't have to measure the water with a scale every time you make your coffee."
