Easter: Jonathan preaches love, sacrifice

Former President, Goodluck Jonathan urged Nigerians to love one another and imbibe the spirit of sacrifice as a way to restore trust and build a stable and prosperous nation.< /p>

Mr. Jonathan, in his Easter message to Abuja on Saturday, described Easter as a time of reflection on the gift of salvation and the power of faith and hope to overcome earthly challenges.

"It is a time when we reflect on the gifts of salvation and redemption from sin and death made possible by the sacrificial death of Jesus Christ on the Cross.

"The death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are the substance of the Christian faith, offering hope to believers and reminding us of God's undying love, mercy, and grace toward mankind.

“At Easter, we remember reconciliation, peace, unity and the triumphant power of faith and hope to overcome earthly challenges,” Mr. Jonathan said.

The former president, who said Nigeria and the world were going through difficult times, urged citizens to rely on faith, mutual trust and sincerity of purpose.

"This is a trying time for Nigeria and the world.

“For our nation, the task of deepening our democracy, strengthening social cohesion and improving the general well-being of our citizens remains a work in progress, requiring good faith, mutual trust and sincerity. goals to get us to the target desired outcome.
