Eddie Hearn 'accepts' Tyson Fury offer for Anthony Joshua fight as venue 'confirmed'

Eddie Hearn has reportedly accepted Tyson Fury's offer for an all-British blockbuster showdown with Anthony Joshua on behalf of AJ. Reportedly, Joshua has accepted a 60/40 purse for a fight at Millennium Stadium - also known as Principality Stadium - in Cardiff, Wales on December 17.

This information was leaked by Fight Hub TV founder Marcos Villegas, who: "I just finished talking to Eddie Hearn. He confirmed that he received terms from Fury/Warren for the fight # FuryJoshua - 60/40 for Dec. 17 at Millennium Stadium with a rematch clause. Eddie said "we accept" but noted that Fury/Warren had proposed Nov. 12 as the date for the fights.

"They asked for the 60/40 split on Nov. 12. Eddie responded by agreeing to 60/40 on AJ's behalf, but said AJ couldn't be ready until Dec. 17. Said Warren had already recorded/held on December 17."

The news comes after Fury promoter Frank Warren confirmed on Tuesday that he would send Joshua an official written offer for a fight against The Gypsy King. Originally, Fury was scheduled to face Oleksandr Usyk in the first undisputed heavyweight unification clash of the four-belt era later this year.

But everything changed when the Ukrainian was banned from the competition until 2023 due to injuries sustained in the fight against AJ.

Eager to make a fight this year, Fury called Joshua out via social media video and the fight was verbally agreed to by Watford powerhouse. At first, AJ's promoter Hearn had been skeptical about the veracity of the Mancunian's offer and didn't trust his word after his recent retirement saga.

However, with an official offer now on tap, it looks like the long-awaited grudge match might finally come true this year.

Discussing the fight during a recent interview with , Fury said: "He would be a huge underdog so he's in a win-win situation. If everyone expects him to lose and 'he beats me, so he's back on top and bigger than ever.

“And if he lost three, what difference does it make if he loses four? Four losses means nothing. Look at Derek Chisora, he's had 12 losses and he's still fighting. from DAZN, the fight can be on BT pay-per-view and DAZN pay-per-view.”
