The Edinburgh Fringe digs cost us more than our £10,000 prize

When Montel Douglas won a £10,000 prize for his knew he was about to stage it at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Without it, his Peckham-based theater group wouldn't have been able to bring their Windrush-inspired drama, One Way Out, to the prestigious showcase artistic.
But the winnings didn't even cover the full cost of basic accommodation for its four cast and three crew members.
Without strong ticket sales, he now risks losing money on the show.
The exorbitant costs of Fringe performances – and the slim chance of breaking even – are shared by many artists who spoke to the BBC.
