Eid-el-Kabir: Be law-abiding, avoid dangerous driving - Police tell citizens of Yobe

The Yobe State Police Command has assured the people of the state of sustained efforts in the fight against crime and criminality before, during and after the Sallah festivities.

The command, through its spokesperson, DSP Dungus Abdulkarim, gave the assurance in a statement released to reporters in Damaturu.

The statement adds that the State Police Commissioner, Haruna Garba, held a meeting during the week with the zone commanders, the DPDs as well as the heads of strategic departments where he instructed them to put in place all necessary security measures to ensure conducive environment for smooth and peaceful Eid celebrations.

The command also enjoined the people of the state to be law-abiding citizens, observe traffic rules, avoid reckless driving and contribute to the existing relative peace in the state by providing useful and credible information to the nearest police stations.

He also urged all security personnel to be professional in carrying out their lawful duties while respecting the rights of citizens.

"To this end, the Commissioner of Police wishes the entire Muslim community happy and peaceful Eid celebrations and calls on everyone to be vigilant and safety conscious," he said.< /p>
