Electric Kane Should Scare A Man As Unlikely Source Tells Him To 'Be Worried'

Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson has revealed he thinks Alan Shearer "must be worried" as Harry Kane is "still a young man" and is targeting his goalscoring record.

Kane has scored consistently throughout his Premier League career. After getting up to speed on his debut campaign, he hasn't had a bad season.

This is evidenced by the fact that his lowest tally since his first season - in which he only played 10 games - was 17. This happened in the 2018/19 season, during which he missed 10 games.

The Tottenham striker has enjoyed a number of phenomenal seasons in front of goal in the Premier League. The current campaign is one of them; Kane has 26 goals with three games left to play.

There is a chance he will break his record of 30 league goals, which he set in 2017/18. It's another goalscoring record he has in sight now.

Indeed, by scoring in Spurs' recent 1-0 win over Crystal Palace, he overtook the only person - Wayne Rooney - between him and the league's top scorer, Alan Shearer.

Kane now has 209 goals, and Shearer is still 51 goals ahead, out of 260. It is plausible that the total is only a few good seasons away, especially since at 29, Kane is at its peak.

Palace manager Hodgson spoke after the game about Kane's prowess in front of goal and feels Shearer should now be afraid of him.

"He always scored in my previous four years at Palace. Real goalscoring talent from a transitional situation," he said.

"The way he got the ball and sent it into that space. We know how good he is in the air and he showed it again. His moment of brilliance won the game.

"He is a good player. What he has done for this club has been huge. Since he made his debut for England, he has gone from strength to strength.

"He's still a young man and I'm pretty sure Alan must be worried because Harry will be breathing down his neck."

Indeed, if Kane has a few more seasons like he has this tenure, he will break the record in the next two years. Of course, that depends on whether he stays in the Premier League, but he's highly unlikely to continue with the record firmly in sight.
