Elon Musk criticizes California bill regarding trans children in family court

A new California bill heading to the governor's desk will force judges to determine which parent is best positioned to affirm their children's gender in a nasty divorce... something Elon Musk sees as stupidity.
The head of Twitter/X went on a rampage online Friday, denouncing the bill as an "outrage" -- this as news circulated that the Cali State Legislative Assembly had passed the law controversial -- AB 957 -- after it was passed. in the State Assembly by a wide margin.
He wrote: "This bill is a wolf in sheep's clothing. In reality, it would mean that if you disagree with the other parent about sterilizing your child, you lose custody. Pure madness!"
The new bill concerns the family court. Basically, judges will now have to take into consideration where a child is best suited to live if parents are fighting for custody...and gender affirmation will be a new key. criteria for making this decision.
It's not the only thing a judge will consider, but it will officially be part of the list -- so if a parent resists their child's transition... that could create problems for hizzoner. BTW, what "affirmation" actually means is vague and not clearly defined in the bill.
Clearly, Elon has some opinions on this - echoing conservatives who were also angry... not to mention some advocacy groups who have been protesting this case for months. The reason it's interesting that this comes from Elon is because of his own family history.
It's no secret that EM has a transgender child: Vivian Jenna Wilson, 19, who was born as a biological male but has since transitioned to a woman. By most accounts, she doesn't have the best relationship with her father...and he blames the Cali school system for that.
