Ember brings Find My functionality to its self-heating travel mug
Ember is a little weird. The Southern California company has two separate, but not entirely independent, branches. There's the smart cups side of the company that launched the startup and the newest cold chain shipping wing, which leverages its temperature-monitoring technology to move things like medical supplies.
While it seems like the mug business may have been a kind of stepping stone to health care (where the real money is), that side of things is still going strong. Today at CES, for example, Ember is announcing the Travel Mug 2+. The new addition to the lineup adds Apple's Find My to the equation.

While not exactly the most obvious addition at first glance, travel mugs are definitely the kind of thing that gets overlooked quite easily. Throw in a price tag of a few hundred dollars and you'll immediately see why you'd rather not accidentally leave the thing on a bus.
Due at some point in Q2 2020, the mug has both the required built-in tracking, as well as a chime that goes off if you lose it nearby (another must use Find My correctly) .

The product has all the same features as the regular Travel Mug 2, including temperature control and a built-in display. Despite the added features, the product will perform the same as its $199 predecessor when it launches later this year. It is unknown if the standard mug will remain on the market at a reduced price.
