Emeka Nduka becomes IALA's fourth president, as Kennedy steps down
Emeka Nduka, member representing Ehime Mbano State Constituency, became Speaker of Imo State Assembly following the resignation of Mr. Kennedy Ibe (APC Obowo)
Nduka was sworn in on Monday in a special closed session chaired by Vice President, Mr. Amarachi Iwuanyanwu (APC Nwangele) who called for nominations after reading the resignation letter.
DAILY POST gathered that the new President was nominated by Majority Leader Mr. Kanayo Onyemaechi (APC Owerri West) and seconded by Dr. Uju Onwudiwe (APC Njaba).
He became the fourth speaker of the Ninth House after the removal of two previous speakers and the resignation of Ibe.
Recall that former President Kennedy Ibe was sworn in on November 8, 2021, following the dismissal of Mr. Paul Emeziem (APC Onuimo) for reasons ranging from false to arbitrary.
Chiji, however, appealed to the House to have his impeachment removed from the legislative records and entered as a resignation, a request which was approved.
