England star 'would improve any team in the world' as 'unfair' criticism is 'complete rubbish'

England and Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount has been told he will 'better any team in the world' and it is 'unfair' that he has been criticized.< /p>

The 23-year-old is becoming a complete midfielder and is already an integral part of England and Chelsea.

Mount has been adored by every manager he has worked with in recent years, and Gareth Southgate is one of his biggest admirers.

The Three Lions boss has always trusted Mount, who started the 6-2 win over Iran on Monday.

England are spoiled for choice in midfield, so it's to Mount's credit that he keeps his place ahead of Phil Foden and Jack Grealish.

The Athletic reported Thursday night that Mount is set to return to England on Friday when they face the United States in their second group game.

Ahead of the clash, Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Adam Lallana suggested Southgate were "exactly right" to start Mount earlier this week.

"Mason Mount is a manager's dream," Lallana told The Times.

"England's glamorous selection would have been to play Phil Foden as a No.10 alongside Bukayo Saka and Sterling, but picking Mount was another of the calls Gareth Southgate got perfectly right.

"And it's no surprise to me having worked with Graham Potter at Brighton that Mount has started all but one Premier League and Champions League game since taking over at Chelsea in September.

"I have a soft spot for Mount because I see similarities in the way we play and what managers ask us to do.

"He is implementing on the pitch what Southgate expects of his team and he will also do it at Chelsea. When Jurgen Klopp arrived at Liverpool in October 2015, I tried to do it, just like I am now under Roberto De Zerbi in Brighton.

"That may earn you the teacher's pet tag, but that's a compliment. Sometimes I hear comments around Mount such as 'What is he doing?' this based on judging players solely on goals and assists.

"Everyone is entitled to their opinion, of course, but that sucks in my book. I think he would improve any team in the world."

Lallana continued to insist that Mount "can deliver in the big moments".

"If a question mark against him is whether he can deliver big moments in big games, then I think that's unfair too," Lallana added.

"Watch the Champions League final in 2021 and the neat pass he produced to assist Kai Havertz for the game-winner in Chelsea's success against Manchester City.

"He also scored for England against Germany in September and again it's important to highlight his age because, at 23, he's still evolving as a player. I haven't even didn't make my international debut until I was 25.

"He has plenty of time to experience his big moments in the big games in an England shirt. Hopefully in the coming weeks.

“His teammates will know exactly what he is worth. That ability to get the ball to someone who is in a better position as quickly as possible is the essence of the game. If only everyone did that. "
