Enugu didn't lose $41.8 million on my watch - Nnamani

Senator representing Enugu East, Chimaroke Nnamani has denied claims that the sum of $41.8 million disappeared from Enugu state government coffers while he was governing the state.< /p>

According to Nnamani who called the allegation gossip, the state never had such a sum to steal or embezzle.

This was revealed in a statement he personally signed, titled "$41.8 Million: No Money Missed From Enugu's Coffer…Sen Nnamani".

H said, "I never met or inherited $41.8 million as governor. Enugu State from 1999 to 2007 did not have $41.8 million. dollars to steal or embezzle.”

“I maintain a residency in America and have just returned after five weeks. The FBI is not looking for me and none of my assets have ever been seized in the United States,” he added.< /p>

The senator clarified that what his accusers were citing was merely a complaint to the Department of Justice.

He said that these complaints were associated with the usual provisional forfeiture, adding that "the provisional forfeiture was canceled after investigation and judicial review".

He told his accusers to do something positive, because accusing him wrongly will bring no value to anyone.

“If my recent political activities make some people uncomfortable, they should know that democracy is a matter of choice. It's an open field, you choose your way to play. Everyone has a choice; I deserve the right to choose my path. I don't expect people to infringe on my right to choose,” he stressed.

He said that as the 2023 general election approaches, politics should not be played with bitterness but with a sense of responsibility and loyalty to the nation, stressing that "all we seek, it's a better Nigeria."
