EPL: FA make decision to punish Guardiola after 4-1 win over Liverpool
Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will escape Football Association, FA, sanction for his defiant goal celebration past Liverpool's Konstantinos Tsimikas in their 4-1 win at the Etihad on Saturday, ESPN reports.
Guardiola reacted to Julian Alvarez's first-half equalizer, appearing to taunt Liverpool substitute Tsimikas as he passed.
The City boss also tried to shake hands with Tsimikas replacement Arthur Melo.
But it was his actions with Tsimikas that led to Guardiola being criticized by fans and former players after the match.
When asked about it after the game, Guardiola said: "I'm really sorry. Ask him if I'm being disrespectful.
"I celebrated the goal - do you think that was disrespectful? Ah, sorry."
