EPL: I sometimes don't understand your selection - Pundit slams Ten Hag on Ronaldo, Casemiro decision
Football pundit and former Leeds United goalkeeper Paddy Kenny has criticized Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag for his handling of striker Cristiano Ronaldo and midfielder Casemiro.
Kenny said he sometimes didn't understand Ten Hag's selection after the former Ajax manager benched Ronaldo and Casemiro in Man United's 6-3 Premier League derby against Man United Sunday.
Ronaldo and Casemiro were both omitted from Man United's starting line-up as the Red Devils suffered a devastating loss to Pep Guardiola at the Etihad.
Casemiro was brought on in the 59th minute in place of Scott McTominay, while Ronaldo remained an unused substitute in the Manchester derby.
"Why wouldn't you have him there? Casemiro was signed for a lot of money and he's sitting on the bench. Sometimes I don't understand Erik ten Hag's selection, really don't," said Paddy told Football Insider.
"The way he also treated Ronaldo, I just don't understand. He scored 25 goals last season. He was also playing in a bad team."
