EPL: Ray Parlor reveals big mistakes Arsenal are about to make

Former Arsenal star Ray Parlor has noted that the club came close to making the mistake of allowing Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli to leave Emirates Stadium.

He pointed out that if that happened it could undermine all the hard work manager Mikel Arteta has done to build a strong team.

The former defender said it wouldn't be the first time the Gunners have allowed such a scenario, recalling the case of Robin van Persie and Samir Nasri.

"We've seen this happen so many times at Arsenal where people have gone for free transfers," Parlor told talkSPORT.

"So now you need to highlight who you want to keep, who your players are going forward.

“I'm sure there will be so much interest in Saka. All the big boys will come and try to sign him,” Parlor added.

"So now sit down with him, get him a good contract. Martinelli is in this together - they have to try to corner him too."

Both wingers have been in scintillating form for Mikel Arteta's side this season, helping them stay top of the table after nine games.

Saka and Martinelli will hopefully start again for the Gunners in hopes of continuing their fine run in the league as they face Leeds United at Elland Road on Sunday.
