EPL: Team up and down - Man City midfielder De Bruyne makes statement on Liverpool

Manchester City midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has claimed Liverpool are an up-and-down team, insisting Pep Guardiola's side are better able to control the game.

Man City will face Liverpool in a Premier League tie at Anfield on Sunday.

The two teams played each other until the last match of the 2021-2022 Premier League campaign.

However, Man City currently sit second in the Premier League table this season after nine games, while Liverpool sit tenth after eight games.

Speaking ahead of Man City's clash with Liverpool, De Bruyne spoke about the differences between the two sides.

"Maybe we have more control over the game, they're more of an up and down team, and we're a team that has more control over the game, so if you can control that style of play , then maybe you have better luck,” De Bruyne told the Manchester Evening News (via Liverpool Echo) when asked about the two teams.

"Last year I thought we played well, but we didn't win any games, so sometimes it happens like that."
