EPL: Very smart - Rio Ferdinand hails Man United star after 2-1 win at Everton
Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has hailed midfielder Casemiro, describing him as a very smart player after Sunday's win over Everton.
Casemiro was there from start to finish as the Red Devils beat Frank Lampard's stubborn side 2-1 at Goodison Park.
Casemiro provided the assist for Cristiano Ronaldo's winning goal in the first half.
"Casemiro has the experience," Ferdinand told BT Sport.
"He has won several Champions Leagues, he understands football.
"Even if it's a different stage, a different environment, he will get used to it and adapt quickly thanks to his intelligence.
"You don't play at this level [at Real Madrid] without having a level of intelligence.
"He is the only midfielder in the Man United team who knows how to defend instinctively and that is part of his composition, the best part of his game."
