Kelsie Grieg, or Kels as she is known in the gaming world, made history by becoming the first woman to qualify for the Call of Duty Challengers Elite Tournament.

But her journey to becoming a story-maker has been far from complete. simple and easy.

The 22-year-old Scot only got into the game "by accident", after an injury ended her her football career.

"I ended up meeting people who are currently in esports, professional gamers. And then I was introduced to the big world of esports," she told BBC Newsbeat.

"I had no realized how easy it was to meet people. And I wasn't too bad at it, so that made a difference."

"I hope I'm not the last"

But being in a male-dominated environment meant that Kels wasn't immediately accepted, with other men doubting the quality of a player, or at least they did at the time. ", she said.
